Curriculum
    Hip – Hop & Jazz: Using music of today, these forms of dance involves muscle toning, stretching, and rhythm
    exercises. Students learn various forms of movement and the wide terminology utilized in theses dance forms.

    Modern: Horton Technique -Dancer, teacher and choreographer Lester Horton (1906-1953) is regarded as one of
    the founders of American modern dance. He developed a unique style of technique and choreography, established
    the first permanent theater in America devoted to dance, and organized one of the first integrated modern dance
    companies.

    Lyrical: Mixing all styles in a slow and deliberate expression that carries the dancer through the air with grace and
    ease. Sounds simple, but it takes lots of strength to dance Lyrical the way it should be and our class does just that
    by building on what the student has learn in Modern, Ballet, and Conditioning classes and giving a Lyrical routine
    that will challenge everyone in the class.

    African/Afro Bahamian: Students will learn and perform traditional African dances from Senegal, Ghana, and The
    Bahamas

    Conditioning: Will help students build stamina while strengthening and stretching muscles. Students will build core
    strength while getting their abs tighter and flatter they will also improve their balance and bone density. This class
    is a unique blend of different techniques and styles such as Pilates and White Cloud. Every class offers a variety of
    movement, intensity and pace; this class is a favorite of students.

    Leaps and Turns: This is a highly technical class where students are shown proper technical execution. They are
    also given special exorcises that helps with coordination, strengthen and stretch various mussel groups to improve
    their leaps and turns.

    Classical Ballet: Russian Technique: Students learn beginning or intermediate level exercises and ballet
    terminology.  Classical Ballet is the foundation for every dance form and every dancer should have ballet as part of
    their dance education. It develops self-discipline, beautiful posture, a controlled body, strength, stamina and poise.
    Classical Ballet Beginning Pointe Students must be at least at the Intermediate level with the strength required to
    support the body on Pointe. All students must be evaluated for entrance into this class.

    *Choreographers Workshop: This is for anyone who is interested in creating routines on other people. This
    class examines choice of music, floor patterns, lifts, movement contrast, movement dynamics, auditioning and many
    more technical aspects of putting a dance together for a competition or performance.

    * This workshop is not part of the regular dance package and must be requested.

    Cost for Choreographers Workshop with regular dance package is $105.00 with a minimum
    of five students and a maximum of 10 students. Without the dance package workshop is $350.00
